About the Programe

Techno India University, West Bengal in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), MHRD, Y-East, and IIC TIU E-Cell are organizing an Industry-Academia National Meet & Exhibition on Waste Management and Social Entrepreneurship on 21st and 22nd January 2020, from 10 am to 7 pm both days, at the Techno India University Campus, Sector V Saltlake.

This National Meet is an open-to-all event - to students, parents, faculty of Techno India and other educational institutions, academicians, researchers, corporates, diverse professionals and citizens. The event will provide in-depth awareness insights on the Impact Economy, Social Entrepreneurship and Waste Management over 2 days, through a series of keynotes, panel discussions and interactions with industry experts, government officials and entrepreneurs. It will also be a unique opportunity for students to interact with industry, learn about and grab career opportunities in the related sectors. We will also have the pleasure to announce the opening of a new Techno India University educational program focused on Waste Management and Social Entrepreneurship.

ABOUT MGNCRE

Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, in the Government of India, strives to promote resilient rural India through Higher Education interventions. MGNCRE designs, develops and promotes curriculum inputs for higher education programs offered by Universities and Autonomous Institutions in India. The higher educational streams of focus for MGNCRE include: Rural Studies, Rural Development, Rural Management, Social Work and Education. The curriculum inputs are both theoretical and practical field-related relevant to rural India.

Located at the prestigious IT hub of Sector-5, Salt Lake, Kolkata, West Bengal, Techno India University, West Bengal was conceptualized by the honorable chairman of Techno India Group, Prof. Dr. Goutam RoyChowdhury. ABOUT Y-EAST

Y-East, an initiative of Techno India Group, is a platform that connects all the individual and organizational actors of the sustainability and social sectors from and for East and North East India. In other words: all citizens, NGOs, corporations, investors, start-ups, public entities, educational institutions… which truly care about social and environmental impact and want to do something about it in these regions, in their own desired and possible capacity. Y-East really embodies the belief that cooperation and partnership are the keys to a greater positive impact, by gathering all these actors through one unique online platform, mechanically generating more offline opportunities to collaborate.

ABOUT IIC

Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has established ‘MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are informative years.

MIC has envisioned encouraging the creation of ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs)’ across selected HEIs. A network of these IICs will be established to promote innovation in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion eco-system in the campuses
